Laura Santucci

Co-Founder, Future Economy Forum. Former Chief of Staff to President Obama’s White House Political Affairs, Chief of Staff to the mayor of New York and the UN World Food Programme.

Laura Santucci brings two decades of strategic leadership in politics, government and public policy at the executive level – including serving as Chief of Staff in President Barack Obama’s White House Office of Political Affairs, Chief of Staff to the mayor of New York, and to the United Nations World Food Programme – the world’s largest provider of food and humanitarian assistance to people affected by crisis, conflict and climate change.

As a leader in President Obama’s two successful presidential campaigns and in the White House, Laura has expertise in organizing programs to mobilize diverse communities, driving process to achieve policy outcomes, while delivering operational excellence in highly dynamic environments.

Laura also served as Executive Director of the New York City mayoral transition between Michael Bloomberg and Bill de Blasio, and as chief of staff in city hall during which universal early childhood education (“pre-K”) was passed and implemented.

During her tenure with the World Food Programme Laura served on the executive leadership group and managed executive operations during a time of then unpreceded program needs and developments, including the height of the Syrian regional crisis and the acceleration of cash-based transfers as a modality of assistance.

Following her appointments in government Laura served as Managing Director at Blue Haven Initiative, the innovative family office of investors and philanthropists Liesel Pritzker and Ian Simmons. She is a co-founder of the Future Economy Forum and past Leadership Group member of MIT Solve.

Laura began her career running policy initiatives to improve the livelihoods of healthcare workers with the Service Employees International Union in New York. A summa cum laude graduate of Manhattanville College with a degree in International Studies, Laura was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from her alma mater.
