Jacqui Hocking
Systems Entrepreneur. ESG Strategy and Impact Investment Communications Advisor. Ambassador, B Lab (Asia), CEO, VS Story. Co-creator, CoralColab. Forbes 30 under 30.
As a documentary filmmaker, Jacqui began her career sailing around the world with a UN Environmental Programme on a Global Climate Expedition. That experience gave her a unique perspective on the challenges the world faces as a global ecosystem. She has since worked with multinationals, governments, impact investors, and financial institutions on their Strategy & Storytelling; from carbon offset projects in the Amazon Rainforest, cacao farms in Mexico, solar projects with Maasai in Tanzania, circular economy solutions across Indonesia and India, and floating hospitals in Papua New Guinea.
A passion for storytelling, filmmaking, and communications has guided Jacqui’s life’s work to date. She is convinced that when a brand shares the story and wider purpose behind its vision, greater awareness is created and real change occurs.
As a systems entrepreneur, she has been dedicated to helping visionaries gain more visibility through innovative video, documentaries, and social media campaigns. As the CEO of VS Story, she has shown that ethical brands have better business results than ‘traditional’ ones, proving that progress and purpose go hand in hand.
Now a Forbes 30 under 30 and three-time TEDx speaker, Jacqui hopes to be remembered for being at the forefront of leading businesses to become the solution for the world’s problems and not the cause. She is happiest when mapping ecosystems, connecting people and designing frameworks to solve global challenges.
Jacqui is also an expert at the Impact Collective, a community-driven Investment & Acceleration program for startups in Asia Pacific solving global challenges, and Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Singapore Eco Film Festival.
