Alana Francis de Govia is a social impact leader who designs and delivers programs across philanthropy, nonprofit capacity building, and cross-sector partnerships. With global experience spanning Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe, and the U.S., she specializes in translating bold organizational visions into measurable, community-centered results.

Alana began her career in public health, working with grassroots organizations in Guinea, Lesotho, and Mozambique before scaling maternal and child health initiatives across Africa and Asia with ICAP – Columbia University, Pathfinder International, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. She channeled her public health training into strategic philanthropy as a senior leader for Alicia Keys’ foundation, Keep a Child Alive, where she managed a multi-million-dollar grant portfolio supporting health programs in Eastern and Southern Africa and South Asia.

Transitioning to cultural and civic leadership, Alana served as Chief Program & Experience Officer at The Africa Center in New York City, where she reactivated the global hub by designing over 200 programs and forging alliances with leading foundations, city government and cultural institutions.

Most recently, as Chief Program Officer at Common Impact, Alana led the design of skills-based volunteering programs that mobilized corporate employees from fortune 500 companies to strengthen the operational and strategic infrastructure of over 200 nonprofit partners globally. Alana currently serves on the board of Advocates for Youth and on the Advisory Board for Youterus Health.
