NOW Partners Foundation, with Global Academy, is developing a model that not only scales agroforestry and regenerates natural systems but strengthens the income and social context of farmers.

NOW is developing an agroforestry project to cultivate cocoa in a regenerative multi-cropping approach that outperforms conventional in regard to productivity and the regeneration of natural and social systems. NOW manages the project from inception to end, including access to markets and will identify several thousand hectares of land in Bahia that investors will purchase.

Farm workers who will operate the land, will co-create a cooperative that has the opportunity to buy the land from the investors, supporting the farm workers to become land owners. By the time they take over the land, the growth of cocoa and various varieties of trees will have entered the period of their productive prime. This means that the farmer workers will own land that generates attractive income and develops their asset base.t opportunities.
