TERRA: COP 30 Action Agenda
Brazil’s government and the COP Presidency invited NOW Partners Foundation to join FAO/Forest and Farm Facility, IFAD, Agroecology Coalition and CGIAR in co-leading TERRA, the COP30 ACTION AGENDA for the international innovation and mainstreaming of Agroecology and Agroforestry.
The process that started already before Belem, will advance solutions over the long term, reporting back to the global community at consecutive COPs, the 2028 UN Global Stock Take and the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Granary of Solutions
Besides co-leading this Action Agenda’s secretariat, NOW will co-lead the development of the Granary of Solutions that highlights and advances the further development and implementation of the world’s most innovative and scalable Agroecology and Agroforestry approaches. They share in common that they strengthen farmer incomes and rural economies, food and water security, resilience, health, biodiversity and the climate because they regenerate natural and social systems.
Global Academy:
Innovation & Capacity Building
Global Academy (GA) that NOW co-founded with leading Agroecology and Agroforestry innovators and implementers from around the world, will support the co-innovation between leading approaches that rarely have the opportunity to learn from each other. GA will also support the development and expansion of innovative capacity building and scaling approaches that complement overstretched extension systems and add business and finance training for farmers.
UN Climate Conference: COP30 Belém
In Belém NOW and GA co-host several event series with Brazil’s government and the COP Action Agenda as well as diverse stakeholders from Brazil and around the world to highlight innovations and inspire action-oriented dialogues that besides solution leaders, include also international journalists to help spread the news that already today, innovative Agroecology and Agroforestry approaches can become the new mainstream that integrates economic success and positive impact on nature and people.
